We open our new Tech Center in Mexico

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors recently opened its newest tech center in Queretaro, Mexico.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held with company leaders, government officials, customers and news media to celebrate its opening on May 30, 2018.

“This is the first step of many to further foster growth and development in Mexico,” said Matthias Perez, Director of the Mexico Technical Center. “We created this with the objective to serve our plants in Mexico and our local customers.”

The 12,000 square foot facility, located adjacent to the company’s manufacturing plant is focused on product engineering, advanced manufacturing, advanced quality and program management. “Today we take another step in the Yanfeng Automotive Interiors strategy, that began 18 months ago. This Technical Center features different functions that span from the design and development of our products, to the realization of our process and the products themselves” added Matthias.

This location also serves as YFAI’s first technical training center for the operations technical staff from our Mexico plants. Ricardo Marañon, Operations Director, Mexico talked about the alignment of the tech center to the company’s plants locally. “We started this journey two years ago, first with the expansion of our Queretaro manufacturing plant, and as a next step, with the establishment of the Tech Center, which has a strong alignment to operations.”

Laura Ceballos, Director of Human Resources for Mexico talked about the importance of talent.
“The success and competitiveness of YFAI is enabled by our people,” said Laura. “We have highly qualified talent at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors that are not only employees, but family.”

Nathan Bowen, VP and General Manager for the Americas also spoke at the event and underscored the importance of this Technical Center and Mexico as part of YFAI’s success in the region. “The Mexico Tech Center and Mexico overall are very important to the company’s North America region. Just about every customer we serve has a significant and growing presence here, Nathan said. “This tech center will help us serve our customers more effectively as well as improve our launch performance and plant support.”

Francisco Dominguez, Governor of the State of Queretaro closed out the formal remarks of the event by congratulating the team and noting that Queretaro has the largest number of automotive parts companies. “Yanfeng Automotive Interiors is part of this success story,” the Governor said. “You are helping to take Queretaro to another level. I wish you great success and congratulations. ”
