Warehouse Manager
United States - TN - Chattanooga

Job Description

  • Oversee receiving of materials and inbound material activities; monitor ports and communicate with staff to ensure sufficient materials are available to production and ensure inbound raw materials. 
  • Understand fundamentals of scheduling system and use reports to manage processes that affect production. 
  • Ensure cycle counts andinventory accuracy is up to date and reflected in automated system (WMS/QAD); insist staff is accountable to accuracy and resolve discrepancies; evaluate and report significant inventory variance, identify root cause and corrective action for inventory discrepancies.
  • Manage warehouse to ensure utilization of space and material flow is efficient for the facility; manage andmonitor maintenance of storage and holding areas to ensure product is secure and properly identified; manage and maintain accurate location listings and communicate to staff. 
  • Supervise subordinates in essential functions and ensure departmental compliance of all companypolicies/procedures and customer mandates

Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as catalyst for continuous improvement ofall materials systems processes and procedures.
  • Manage with proactive methods utilizing management reports and good communication to invoke actions to eliminate delays; manageadherence to production and shipping schedules using tools provided. 
  • Manage and communicate contingency plans for workflow changes as necessary on an on-going basis for prevention plan for timing issues.
  • Maintain Destination Shipping instructions and ASN Contingency Matrix per the YF iOS shipping standard. 
  • Audit subordinates and their work areas to ensure employee safety and housekeeping. 
  • Participate in annual budget forecasts, report costs for material and labor within Material Groupto Plant Manager as necessary.
  • Manage enforcement of methods and policies ensuring the most efficient and economical transport of all materials in and out of the plant per established routings, frequencies and modes.
  • Enforce utilization of Quality and MPL procedures to increase efficiency and effect change through work instructions, records and training.

Required Education Level/Qualifications
Bachelor's Level Degree
Area of Study:    Supply Chain Management, Engineering or similar.
*Equivalent work experience may alsobe considered for certain positions.

5-9 Minimum Years of Experience with Supply Chain/Warehouse Experience
3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

•    8 years of experience using an ERP system in a repetitive manufacturingenvironment. 
•    8 years of experience using a warehousemanagement system. 
•    Experienced with KANBAN systems. 
•    Experience with OSHA standards
