Tooling Engineer | 2nd Shift

Job Description
- Manage the molded part feasibility process, including, participating in product design reviews throughout the design evolution, including design sign-off.
- Review and understand themold flow simulation analysis throughout the design evolution.
- Manage and resolve feasibility issues, including GD&T requirements and SC and CC requirements. Support red flag meetings where appropriate.
- Review and approve all plastic part designs.
- Ensure that the appropriate tool design is developed for the part.
- Participate in Tool design reviews, incorporating the Plant needed functions and connectors.
- Ensure that Company tooling standards have been complied too.
- Sign-off on all injection mold tool designs.
- Troubleshoot problems with all tooling.
- Repair, fix and implement engineering changes.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure plant safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Use analytical problem solving.
- Understand injection molding processes, molded part feasibility and tool build/design.
- Experiencewith injection molding equipment, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
- Proven mechanical aptitude for problem solving.
- Experience with various injection molding tool technologies (e.g. RPT, Aluminum, P-20, mold max, cooling and turbulent flow, tool shot, mold behind, in-mold formed laminates).
Bachelor's Level Degree
Area of Study: Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
- 1 -3 Minimum Years of Experience with Mold Design.
- 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.1-3 years or more experience in injection molding tool and process engineering.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program resulting in a Journeymen Level Tool and Die Maker.
