Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Setup and execute various automotive interiors tests in accordance with OEM specifications.
- Responsible for test instrumentation set-up, calibration, and usage.
- Experience in Materials / Interiors Tests, Screw torque, Electronics, Infrared Testing is a plus.
- Setup and usage of environmental chambers.
- Document all relevant test data in an appropriate form (photos, video, measurement data…).
- Perform automotive interiors testing in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
- Continue improvement of the work procedures for the applicabletest equipment.
- Usage of Data Acquisition system to collect test data.
- Own responsibility for carrying out multiple tests at once.
- Complete testing on a tight deadline, while meetingor exceeding customer expectations.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Common requirements:
- Conduct post-test data processing andinterpretation of results.
- Completion of any necessary testing documentation which may includecalibration sheets, data sheets, test reports, video files, still photos.
- Maintains safe, secure, and clean work place by following 5S standards.
- Conduct some equipment maintenance and/orrepair as applicable.
- Maintain calibration records for lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations.
- Perform peer review on technical reports.
- Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required.
- Handle material movement as required (i.e. fixtures, pallets, and test samples). Forklift training provided.
- International Operating System (IOS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related IOS requirements.
- Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
- Usage of Global Validation Management System (VOS).
- Compliance: Understand, apply andmeet all function-related compliance requirements.
- Information Security: Understand, apply andmeet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
Specific requirements:
Education: Engineering / technical degree preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of laboratory technician experience (Automotive Interiors experience a plus).
Qualifications (General/EHS/Quality):
Minimum 2+ years laboratory technician experience with the following:
- Ambitious, Self-motivated and Eager to learn.
- Experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab is preferred.
- Set-up and perform testing in accordanceto OEM specifications
- Setup and usage of environmental chambers.
- Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations for test reports.
- Writing of official technical reports
- Familiar with a LIMS systems
-Experience using lab-based systems including programmable controllers, data acquisition systems, lab instrumentation.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a lab environmentwith equipment, fixtures, controllers.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally and 10 lbs routinely.
