Technical Rotational Program

Job Description

This is an entry level position as a part of a development rotational program, targeted for recent graduates. Individuals rotate through at least 2, up to 4 positions in different areas of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. 

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Program Details 

  • AME XRP program includes numerous training and development aspects.  
  • Mentorship – Individuals will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program. 
  • Plant Tours – Opportunities tovisit different YF manufacturing locations. 
  • Individual Development Plans (IDPs) – Individuals will work collaboratively with the XRP committee and their mentor on goal setting and defining a career map. 
  • Networking – Individuals are guided and encouraged to network and engage with employeesfrom other functions as well as upper YF management. 
  • Soft Skill Development & Training – Examples include communication, active listening, presentation practice & leadership skills. 
  • Broader YF XRP Community – Events & activities cross-functionally with other department XRPs. 

Essential functions of the job 

Responsibilities in this role include: 

  • Learn and work to support the Injection Molding, Assembly, and Special Process facilities through hands-on activities.  
  • Work towards developing the people, processes, procedures, and equipment used in our operations. 
  • Learn to evaluate equipment, make recommendations for improvement, and when applicable execute their own recommendations. 
  • Learn and demonstrate how to quote and launch new injection molding, assembly, and/or special process equipment within North America. 
  • Learn to understand scientific molding principles, eDARTand related equipment. 
  • Expected to be very hands-on and learn to work with our plants to improve equipment related issues that are impacting plant performance. 
  • Position requires travel, including overnight travel. Please inquire for further information. 

Required Education 

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering - or equivalent degree 

Work Experience 

  • Previous Intern or Co-Op work experience in Automotive is a plus. 
  • Analytical and mechanical aptitude for problem solving. 
  • Effective communication skills withina team environment. 
  • Troubleshooting experience highly desirable. 
  • Ability to interact withall employee levels within the company. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and self-motivated. 
  • Experience with CADis a plus.
