This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing processes for improvements using various methods of testing and inspection, driving quality improvementsthrough problem solving, and ensure products are manufactured in compliance with customer specifications, safety standards and design specifications. Oversees and facilitate the implementation of process Quality core tools (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Support the risk and failure analysis (PFMEA) reviews and update/maintain the Control Plan for the assigned work flows
- Primary contact source with customer/supplier representatives, maintain positive communication and relationship, support and attend meetings, reviews and audits
- Performs root cause analysis of technical problems
- Ensures that the quality system is maintained in accordance with the Business Operating System (BOS) standards.
- Facilitate problem solving teams and respond to customer discrepancynotices.
- Verify corrective actions and prepare problem solving customer correspondence related to quality concerns or issues
- Participate in internal and external qualityaudits, and report to management on quality issues, trends and losses
- Participate inworkgroups (e.g., FMEA, PSMC, etc.)
- Establish process controls, assist in training ofnew projects and buy-off on new/modified equipment and processes
- Support quality/dimensional control systems (i.e., X&R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma, dimensional capability studies)
- Strong working knowledge of APQP tools (e.g., Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan,PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.)
- Quality System: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Quality requirements.
- Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
- Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
- Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
- Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security andconfidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
- Must comply with all companypolicies and procedures.
- Employee must have the ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
- Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Ability tomaintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Level Degree inQuality, Industrial of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience in Quality or Engineering related function.
- 1 -3 Years of Experience working in the field of Quality, Engineering CI or similar
- Less Than 1 Years of Experience within the automotiveindustry.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment, establishing partnerships both internally and externally
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess knowledge on the fundamentals of PPAP and APQP processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive related is highly desirable
- Understanding of the Quality function such as customer service, metrology, and quality analysis techniques (i.e., Design of experiments, Red X, PPAP, Control Plan, etc.).
