Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for continuous improvement of paint processes. Workswith production management, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify process activities to support customer requirements. Implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and affect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Essential Functions:
Supervisory Capacity: No Supervisory Responsibilities
- Motivate and provide direction to the Process Technicians ensuring appropriate directions, training, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain the process standards in which all parts are manufactured.
- Review production and operating records and resolves technical processing issues.
- Follow established action plans for processes out of range.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Project management and buy off of new equipment.
- Manage exploration of new materials andprocesses in order to achieve the best quality, process, and reliability.
- Motivate and train the paint technicians, ensuring appropriate training and evaluation.
- Verify and applynarrow ranges for optimum processes to meet customer expectations.

- Compile data and analyze past and current information in order to assist in the preparation of the budget and reduce operational costs.
- Work with tool shops for all tool repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain documentation closely, following necessary timelines on specific projects.
- Enforce safety rules daily.
Specific Requirements:
Education:
Area of Study: Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering,
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered
Required Qualifications:
- 2-5 Minimum Years of Experience with Painting Processes (1K, 2K)
- Experience within the automotive industry preferred
- Must be able and willing to work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
- Master-root cause troubleshooting with problem solving.
- Experience with paint system startup and shutdown, purging
- Desire to be hands on and overcome challenges that arise on a daily basis.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the automotive industry preferred
- Experience in FANUC preferred
Work Environment:
- Often exposed to distracting sounds and noisy conditions.
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Works closely with others, perhaps within a foot of another person.
- Work is indoor in a manufacturing setting that may notbe temperature controlled.
