Yanfeng Automotive Interiors in North America has a long established tradition: Every year in summer, all interns across North America locations gather at the YFAI Summer Intern Expo to present their impactful projects and ideas. This year, the event was held beginning of August, and members of the campus and the leadership team spent the afternoon talking with the interns about the impactful projects they worked on this summer.

YFAI’s Summer Intern Expo established the internship program to provide students with the supervision they need to be successful in their evolving careers. “We as an employer clearly benefit from this program”, said Nathan Bowen, Vice President & General Manager of YFAI North America.” In times of skilled labor shortage and the challenges we face with generation Y and Z, we have to be creative to attract young talents. This internship program offers us the possibility to get in touch with people who bring a fresh perspective to the business.”

In total, 70 interns were spread all across North America locations. Various employees served as judges for a preliminary round viewing all intern presentations, then narrowed the group down to the top 15 projects and presentations. Our leaders served as judges for the final round, choosing the winners in different categories, and the students voted for the Intern's Choice Award.
