Manager Tooling

Job Summary:
Tooling Manager is empowered to achieve results through motivation, recognition, performance feedback and development. Is responsible for time and performance management. This position is responsible to manage all tooling for compliance to tool standards, and preventative maintenance.
Essential functions of the job:
- Oversee tool builds and engineering changes within Company tool rooms and at outside vendors.
- Prioritize work within the Company tool room and maintain tooling standards.
- Provide quotes for in-house tool room work.
- Develop and maintain tooling preventive maintenance program.
- Manage tool room purchase burden spending.
- Enforcesafety rules daily. Noncompliance of safety rules will result in disciplinary action and/or termination. Actively intervene to correct recognized unsafe actions and conditions.
- Conduct daily observation of PPE use and safe work practices adherence and coach employees as needed.
- Ensure that all accidents including first aid are reported.
- Followall safety guidelines established by this facility daily. Noncompliance tothe safety policy will result in disciplinary action and/or termination.
- Build credibility through continuous demonstration of safety as a value through their personal actions.
- Delegate a monthly reporting system to the TE and implement a weekly information system respective supervisor.
- Supervise the Tooling Engineer’s regarding their tooling- and technology level. Educate the Tooling Engineers to high-level experts.
- Control the work of Tool Engineer’s to achieve best tooling results by applying all Tooling Standards.
- Responsibility for tool design checks, tool engineering, tool follow up
Required education:
- Bachelors level degree in Engineering or similar
- *Equivalent work experience may alsobe considered for this position.
Required qualifications:
- 7-10 Minimum Years of Experience with Mechanical or Process Engineering and Injection Molding.
- 10+ Minimum Years of Experiencewithin the automotive industry.
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
- Experience in production and tool build.
Preferred qualifications:
- Journeyman Toolmaker Certification.
- Activities under Tooling Engineer as needed.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program resulting in a Journeymen Level Tool and Die Maker.
