Manager Procurement Commodity

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Development, presentation, execution, and regularupdating of procurement strategies for responsible commodities globally and regionally. Significantfocus on a cost competitive and sustainable supply base, driving cost optimization, supplier improvement and development, supplier quality, and supply chain performance. 
  • Manage supplier relationships with current suppliers.
  • Identify, benchmark and analyze potential new suppliers that could reduce costs and provide increased value to Yanfeng. 
  • Lead, develop, and manage commodity road maps to meet or exceed planned goals for cost savings and material economics and to provide forecast information to the organization.
  • Drive and support cost savings activities including material changes, material consolidation etc.
  • Understand market for responsible commodities and drive initiates to mitigate risk or promote opportunities for the business.
  • Work with commercial on material economics claim with OEM customers. 
  • Follow purchasing operating system and purchasing process to complete sourcing and negotiation, execution of strategies, and any operational procurement items.
  • Update purchase orders periodically with suppliers per the agreement
  • Support purchase to pay issues. 
  • Support supplier development teams by leading supplier executive reviews with low performing suppliers, support and negotiate supplier charge back escalations.
  • Guarantee compliance with internal processes. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors level degree, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
  • 5-9 minimum years of experience with supply chain-related roles with a focus on negotiation. 
  • 3-5 minimum years of experience within the automotive industry.
  • Experience with raw materials is a plus.
  • Strong relational/interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to travel and work at supplier locations, including industrial manufacturing plants which may require climbing, lifting, or working inconfined spaces.
  • Procurement- both tactical and strategic experience. 
  • Financial knowledge.
  • Master's degree.
