Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in the implementation the YF iOS and YFIMS to eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness, and environmental non-compliance in a manufacturing environment. Spearhead specific actionsto assure the plant complies with all federal, state provincial, and local environmental regulations and rules, including those related to occupational health and safety. Champion the facility’s EHS risk management program through the corporations Quality Systems (YF iOS) and ISO processes which are designed to minimize the physical and financial exposure resulting from potential, alleged or actual on-the-job injuries/illnesses, and environmental compliance.

MainResponsibilities
- Good technical skills in safety, fire and environmental matters:
- Conduct safety, fire risks/env aspects, and ergonomicassessments.
- Define controls measures to reduce risks and exposure.
- Manage and lead waste streams and chemical streams.
- Collaborates when requirements for new equipment are defined.
- Ability to work “on-call” for any emergencies that may arise.
- Enter incidents (safety & environmental) and other data such as audit results into the Corporate Health Environmental & Safety System (EHSIS).
- Maintain and track all topicsfrom YFIMS system – EHS pillar.
- Conduct accident investigations and assist with determining root cause and resolution.
- Identifies, develop, facilitates, and conducts appropriate and required plant EHS training.
- Leads EHS related teams in plant as (CFT – Cross functionality team, Emergency, First aid etc.).
- Ensure all new equipment meets all legal and YF requirements, Active participationduring acceptance process.
- Coordinate and possibly teach annual required safety and environmental compliance training.
- Evaluate EHS hazards and develop proactive strategies to address inefficiencies.
- Facilitate the daily EHS reviews of operations.
- Work with regional workers compensation claims administration team, third party administrators, and attorneys to manage open worker’s compensation claims.
- Lead contact for outside agencies such as fire departments, OSHA, and environmental regulators.
- Ensure contractors are trained properly and adhere to contractor safety program requirements.
- Schedule annual hearing, pulmonary function exams, and other exams as needed.
- Manage environmental and safety tasks on glide path.
- Manage Hot Work program.
- Coordinate safety action plan, ensure continuous implementation and improvement.
- Conduct safety and environmental audits YFIMS; coordinate plant preparation for corporate audits YFIMS.
- Respond to environmental incidents and spills, including completing investigations to determine root-cause and closure activities.
- Lead certification process according to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Prepare & implement EHS&E systems & procedures.
- Initiate projects to improve EHS performance.
- Ensure plant is compliant with YF iOS and all other environmental, health and safety laws including compliance with all air, water and waste permits including specific YFIMS requirements EHS pillar. Conducts EHS&E system audits (leading and lagging KPI) YFIMS - EHS pillar.
- Coordinate environmental objectives program and ensure implementation throughout the year.
- Perform duties as the plant EHS management representative (EHS-MR).
- Advises plant management of EHS related situations.
- Track, Analyze and improve EHS KPI's, Tracks & analyse near misses, incidents, injuries and ensure that corrective actions are implemented (also for all Leading indicators.
- Track and coordinated the LOTO program in plant (LOTO-Log out Tag out).
- Lead member of the Plant EHS Committee.
- Assist in accident investigation, helps to assure that proper reports are completed and assists in recommending correctiveaction.
- Leads & update safety/ fire/ ergonomic /environmental hazards/impact assessments, defines and controls corrective measures. Active leading of EHS Risk assessment.
- Maintains the first aid facility of the plant; provides first aidtreatment of on-the-job injuries or illness; maintains first aid treatment records.
- Keeps up to date of the latest safety procedures and equipment by membership in appropriate organizations, attendance at pertinent seminars and reading professional journals.
Qualifications:
Education: Some College | Area of Study: EHS or similar.
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
Experience:
- 1 -3 Minimum Years of Experience with General EHS.
- 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, includingindustrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and diving in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions and decimals and compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Familiar with employment laws and regulations (i.e., OSHA, EEOC, etc.); must be computer literate.
- Is aware of the content of Health, Safety and Environmental Standards (ISO14001, OHSAS 18001) and Health and Safety Regulations of the hostcountry. As well as the Environmental Legislation of the host country.
- Basic knowledge of NFPA Fire Protection Standards or any other local Fire Protection standard.
