Concept YF17 unveiled in Shanghai
Recently, the Shanghai International Auto Show (SHIAS) in China took place.

At the show, Yanfeng, one of the shareholders in the Yanfeng Automotive Interiors (YFAI) joint venture, exhibited innovations from their five business units, including YFAI. The key focal point of the display was the YF17, a new innovation demonstrator. Also in Shanghai, YFAI officials participated in the 2017 Car Design Awards China as a golden sponsor, and presented the “Best Interior Design” prize to the winning students at a special awards ceremony.

The YF17 innovation demonstrator featured 41 innovations across interiors, seating, electronics, safety and exteriors. The vehicle made its debut at SHIAS on April 19. To fit the taste of Chinese consumers, the YF17’s interior styling and colors were tailored and upgraded from the XiM17, which was introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, US in January. The 41 innovations are flawlessly embedded in the vehicle and delivered through the four different modes: driving mode, family mode, face-to-face mode and lounge mode.

“The interior of YF17 greatly reflects our latest technologies in smart interior surfaces, light weight and adaptivity,” said Han Hendriks, Chief Technology Officer at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors. “It’s based on our high-level interior integration capability and advanced manufacturing capability. From ID16 and XiM17 to YF17, Yanfeng Automotive Interiors has always been a pioneer in exploring the future of interiors that keeps end-user experience in motion in order to provide a better life on board.”

In addition to YF17, other product technologies presented at the show included advanced skin technologies; lightweight solutions; complete decorative portfolio; superior cut, sew and wrap solutions; slim air vent with gesture control; and ambient lighting solutions.

SHIAS, one of the world’s most influential automotive exhibitions, is open to industry professionals and the public from April 21 to 28.
