Supervisor Production

Job Description

The Supervisor Productionis responsible for directing all activities within the assigned area of the production departments.Ensures the on-time production of quality products while handling the daily supervision of the departmental personnel.

Essential Functions

Supervisory Capacity:    ​Direct Reports:  20+​ 

  • Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the ProductionManager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work). 
  • Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meeting. 
  • Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed. 
  • Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets. 
  • Compile KPI data and populate end ofshift report.  Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.   
  • Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced. 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members.
  • Monitor quality of product throughout the production process. 
  • Participates in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives. 
  • Daily reviewof process and people to identify and implement CI opportunities.

 

Required Education Level

High School Graduate or Equivalent Area of Study: General Studies *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.

Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)

  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience withProduction. 
  • 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry. 
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces. · Computer literacy. 
  • Excellent oral communication skills. 
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level,Skills, Knowledge)

  • Just in Time (JIT) environment experience, preferred.
  • Proficient organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
