Job Description
The HR Professional is responsible for providing Human Resource related duties on a professional level whileworking closely with management in supporting all Southview plant operations. This position carriesout responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, benefits administration,performance management, training, recruiting & onboarding, policy implementation and employmentlaw compliance.
Essential Functions:
- Day-to-day administration, communication and interpretation of HR policies and programs
- Serves as point of contact for HR inquiriesfrom employees and provides quality customer service during all inquiries/requests
- Conducts investigations as needed for employee relations concerns, complaints and policy violations,escalating when necessary
- Assist with identifying, coordinating and evaluating necessary training and employee involvement activities that support plant success metrics
- Maintains confidentiality on employee-related issues while notifying only those in a need-to-know capacity
- Monitors the performance evaluation process and tracks as necessary
- Works with Talent Acquisition team on recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel; ensures job descriptions are updated to attract best talent; process offer letters
- Partners with staffing agencies to identify and bring in temporary employees
- Conductsnew employee orientations; monitors career pathing program for skilled trades
- Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions and results of the department in relation to established goals; recommends new approaches, policies & procedures to continually improve efficiency of thedepartment and services performed
- Maintains HRIS database (includes processing new hires, pay changes, promotions, transfers, employee data changes, & terminations) and compiles reports from database
- Administer and manager FMLA and other company Leaves of Absences
- Monitor employee eligibility for benefit plans and assist with annual open enrolment communications and election process
- Other duties / tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3 years in HR fields, Experience in staffing, trainingand development, employee communication and reporting thorough knowledge of employment-related stateand federal laws / regulations
- Strong people skills with the ability to accurately communicate to co-workers and management across all departments, functions
- Strong Problem solving and Analytical skills
- Ability to make sound business decisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office as well as various HRIS and ATS systems
- Able to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to process sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and meet given deadlines
